Clinical Account Manager
Sales Division
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Clinical Account Manager has the primary responsibility of driving product utilization, customer training, and continuing education for new and experienced Hansen Medical system users. The role requires extensive travel, in the near 100% range, as customer training and support will be performed at customer hospital sites and at designated customer training facilities, as well as at the Hansen Medical corporate office.
Primary Duties:
The following are some of the roles and responsibilities that will be required of the clinical account managers for Hansen Medical. The items on this list are not exclusive of additional future items, as the Hansen Medical product and this role is new and will be dynamic, with focus on needs of customers and of Hansen Medical corporate headquarters’ needs.
- Drive disposable utilization at the local market level
- Participate in new hire training upon initial hire.
- Participate in ongoing Hansen Medical required training.
- Provide adequate site management that will keep site and users engaged and increase utilization
- Create, execute and regularly update individual site business/utilization plan, including regular reviews with RSE, “C” level site liason, all users and any other significant stake holder at site. Reviews are to be no less than every 90 days
- Organize initial new customer on-site installation training.
- Support on-site cases for new customer installations according to pre-defined utilization plan.
- Support follow up cases for customers not at independent level.
- Work to move sites with poor utilization into productive sites
- Provide capital sales support to regional sales professional in form of account visits with sales, clinical presentations during sales cycle, clinical liaison support.
- Support ongoing clinical trials as needed per Hansen Medical corporate headquarters’ request.
- Accompany and support visiting physicians during human case observation.
- Travel between sites in a time and cost effective manner.
- Communicate with Hansen Medical corporate headquarters concerning customer feedback, both positive and negative.
- Share knowledge learned from accounts with clinical and sales team.
- Share negative feedback from customers immediately with national clinical manager, VP of sales, and regional sales professional for that account.
- Maintain necessary health records required for account support.
- Maintain current driver’s license in good standing, as car rental will be required to support many accounts.
- Maintain passport in good standing for possible international case support.
- Support national and regional tradeshows. customer animal lab demonstrations.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of commercial healthcare experience is desired, with focus on cardiology applications. Specific focus on electrophysiology is desired. 2 of these 5 years should demonstrate a successful track record in a sales/enrollment capacity.
- A minimum of an additional 5 years of clinical hospital experience is desired.
- Commercial / healthcare supervisory experience is desired.
- Ability to travel up to 100% of work time is required.
- Ability to travel internationally is required.
- Proven ability to create positive rapport with physicians and staff in large and small hospital settings.
- Education / national registries appropriate for healthcare background.
- Healthcare background beyond cardiology is desired. Willingness to learn applications beyond cardiology setting is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
- Proven history of delivering successful clinical education is required.
- Proven history of accomplishing measured goals in a sales environment is required. customer Peer Training sessions.
